Marketing your Las Vegas company in a recession is just as important as marketing in a more stable or fat economy. Even if your marketing budget is reduced, you cannot and must not eliminate that marketing budget during a recession.
Don’t Cut Out Marketing
Reason why? If you don’t keep up with your company’s marketing, your competitors surely will. The number one way to lose a foothold in the market place is to disappear from the public’s eye. When your competitors are cutting back, you can forge forward with increasing your visibility and market share.
Optimize Your Website’s Home Page
Having a clear call-to-action and a clear competitive edge on your website’s homepage is essential to attracting and retaining clients and customers. Make sure that your website’s home page is enticing, has plently of links to subpages, testimonials, and facts to back up why your company could benefit their business during a recession.
Focus on Customer Retention
One of your greatest assets as a company is your current clients. Work with them during harder times, keep costs low for them. Also suggest ways to help them grow their businesses during tough times, they may have the budget and you may be able to help. Keep them happy and keep them satisfied!
Follow Up On Old Leads
You never know what business you may find when following up on old leads. Pull out every business card, open every email, follow up with every friend and family member that has referred business in the past.

Powerpoint presentations are still an invaluable marketing tool that you can use when presenting your Las Vegas company or business’ products and services to a potential client. Powerpoint presentations are used as a backdrop to your speech or presentation to a potential client. They should be well designed, well written and move quickly in order to keep your audience’s attention.
When you actually sit down to create a presentation for your Las Vegas company, you should keep the following Powerpoint tips in mind:
- Keep concise – if there’s one tip I cannot express enough, it is to keep your Powerpoint slides short and sweet. They are meant to keep listeners and views moving along with your verbal presentation. Even if your presentation is a leave-behind or going to be emailed to a prospective client, you need to keep only the basic facts on the slides. Powerpoint slides are not meant to be web pages or resumes, etc.
- Design professionally – use one of the templates that Powerpoint provides or have a professional company design your Powerpoint slides. Having a professional look and feel provides credibility to your company and keeps your company in prospective customers mind-set when considering which company to choose.
- One topic per slide – keep your information to one topic per slide, even if it means using a few extra slides. Packing too much information onto slides is annoying and distracting. If you have information that will not fit onto one slide, consider breaking it up into two slides rather than making the font small and the the slide full of text.
- Use visuals – Powerpoint provides many predefined feature for images and animation effects. Don’t over do it but images and photos that support what information is on each slide lends visual appeal and animation can help keep things interesting. Don’t overuse images and animation.
- Print outs – when presenting your Powerpoint presentation to a group of potential customers, provide them each with a printout of your Powerpoint presentation. At least a black and white copy. Always great to leave them with a “leave-behind”.
- Use the slide master – look in the help menu and use the Slide Master feature offered by Powerpoint to create a template background, templated fonts and font sizes consistent.
- Practice – when your Powerpoint presentation is finished, practice giving your presentation in your office or home. Presenting it many times to an imaginary audience will help you deliver the presentation perfectly when the big day comes!

Okay, so your Las Vegas company or business has a website, that’s a great first start. In addition to a professional website design with good content, your website needs to rank or appear in search engine results like google.
Natural organic search engine rankings for your website bring your website listing to the first few pages of a google search. Organic rankings are the ranking google pulls when you do a search. They are not the paid or sponsored listings or links.
Here’s a visual to help (it’s my company Perkolate coming up #1 on a search for “las vegas marketing company”):

So, how can you improve the organic ranking for your website?
- Have a well written website with a decent amount of content, a couple of hundred words on each page if possible.
- Optimize all META tags on your web pages (title tag, keyword tag and description tag)
- Link to other websites, could be partners of your business, helpful links, articles, community links, etc.
- Have links going between your website pages that are rich in keywords and key phrases.
- Purchase your domain name for several years (tells search engines you’ll be around for awhile!)
- Have a professional SEO company in Las Vegas perform Search Engine Optimization services on your website.
- Consider adding a blog to your website (another great way to get more links and traffic to your website).
- Add your website to the google directory (and all other top 10 search engines)
- Keep your website up to date – search engines like fresh content.
